On May 5 and May 13, the Hospitals and UHW continued productive discussions on articles related to Employment Categories, Layoffs, Discipline, Trial Periods, and Hours of Work. Each side has continued to make progress and adjustments in an attempt to come closer to an agreement on these critical articles. In regards to Hours of Work, the Hospitals heard from bargaining team members concerning their questions related to overtime scheduling. In addition, UHW posed several questions regarding benefits, retirement, paid time off, and other economic-related information in preparation for their initial economic proposal.
In the last session, we reached a tentative agreement on Trial Periods, and we anticipate signing a tentative agreement on the Grievance and Arbitration article in our next session. We continue to make progress on the other articles mentioned above, and we expect to receive UHW’s initial economic proposal within the coming weeks.
The next bargaining session is scheduled for Tuesday, May 19 at 10am.
We continue to approach these negotiations in good faith and trust that, with UHW, we will develop a contract that is in the best interests of both our Hospitals and our employees. For updates throughout contract negotiations, please continue to visit: www.StanfordPackardFacts.com.
